In 2025, I got to attend the Niels Bohr Quantum Summer School in Copenhagen, which was very much one of those “wait, I get to be here?” experiences.
I learned a lot that week, and it was such an honor to be there. There is something very funny and very sweet about studying quantum mechanics in a city whose name is basically glued to one of the field's most famous arguments.
And yes, I did get to see the Copenhagen interpretation of quantum mechanics. By which I mean: I was in Copenhagen, interpreting quantum mechanics. This is perhaps not what Bohr meant, but I stand by it emotionally.
Mostly I just felt grateful to spend that time around people who care so much about quantum information, in a place where the history of the field feels unusually close.
